Creating an Intercom over IP (IoIP) System

IoIP Station Creation

Mercury IoIP Card
This half-length PCI card converts a PC to an Intercom over IP station with eight (8) simultaneous full-duplex IP voice channels. It may be fitted to any standard Windows PC and linked to a standard 10/100 Base-T or better Ethernet network. Headsets, desktop speakers and microphones are connected directly to this device.

Mercury USB IoIP Interface Unit
An ideal solution for laptops, this compact unit converts a PC to an Intercom over IP station with eight (8) simultaneous full-duplex IP voice channels via USB port. It may be fitted to any standard Windows PC and linked to a standard 10/100 Base-T or better Ethernet network. Headsets, desktop speakers and microphones are connected directly to this device.

The Mercury IoIP Enterprise is not limited to PC to PC communications. The Mercury Interface Unit provides an interface to many types of communications equipment.

Mercury Interface Unit
This device may be used to support up to 16 users located within a maximum cable run of approximately 1500 ft. The Mercury Interface Unit also provides a seamless interface between the Mercury IoIP enterprise and conventional audio infrastructures. Possible applications include interoperability between all types of radios, telephones, public address systems, multi-channel digital voice recorders and more.

Control Panel Options

Mercury Virtual Panel Software
Virtual Control Panel Software provides the user interface on a Mercury-enabled computer's monitor or display. Each key on the control panel represents an individual, group or conference. The user can establish independent or combined speak and listen operation for each key as authorized. When a call is received, the panel pops up, indicating the source of the call and allows a response. When a conversation is completed, the virtual panel will remain in view or can auto-minimize after a pre-set timeout. Either mouse or touch-screen operation can be used.

The Mercury IOIP system may be enhanced by the addition of a range of hardware control panels. They can be used in addition to the virtual panel capability described above.

Mercury Callstation
Callstation is a small footprint user control panel for the Mercury IoIP system. It offers easy, one touch connection to eight users with others being accessed via a shift page. A prominent reply key allows any incoming call to be answered with the name of the caller being clearly shown in the large graphical display.

Mercury Control Center 8 Key Panel
The Control Center 8 Key Panel is a rugged user control panel for the Mercury Intercom over IP communications system. It also offers easy, one touch connection to eight users or groups with eight others being accessed via a shift page. It may be used with any PC which is Mercury enabled by the addition of a PCI card or USB device.

Includes rubber feet, two lifting handles and starter pack of 10-32 clip nuts. Overall width is 21 inches, overall height 2 inches over panel height (panel is 2U). Rugged powder paint finish.

Enterprise Configuration

Mercury Configuration and Editing Software

Mercury configuration and editing is accomplished using one or more PCs (Windows 98 or better) from anywhere on the network. It is used for administration of intercom functions, IP configuration and site topology. Static or momentary connection of the host PC is required for output of XML files to a shared directory.
